The Museo-Casa di Dante is located in the medieval quarters. At the beginning of the 20th century Giuseppe Castellucci was commissioned to rebuild a 13th century tower house to be a museum dedicated to Dante Alighieri. Historians believe this house sits in the part of town that Dante was born. With four stories, the tower´s groud floor houses art exhibitions. The top three floors are exclusivley related to Dante. These three floors display documents, maps, drawings, and paintings related to Dante´s childhood, adulthood, and career. In the museum there is a bookshop that sells the works of Dante in Italian and many other languages.
